Established in 1960, Gander Mountain Company is now the nation's largest network of retailers specializing in camping, fishing, hunting and marine equipment and accessories. As well as their online presence and catalog department, they operates stores in 23 states. Their combined retail space exceeds 6.6 million square feet. With their 2007 acquisition of Overton's, Gander Mountain now offers the widest selection of marine equipment and accessories in the nation.

Gander Mountain is well known for their Black Friday and Holiday Season sales. In 2010, customers who chose to shop on Thanksgiving Day received $20 in Ganger cash for every $100 spent in the store. 2011 promotions promise to meet or exceed 2010 levels.
